Our shared dream is to create a place for culture, diversity and solidarity-based living in the countryside. We came a big step closer to this dream at the beginning of 2021 when we acquired a plot of land of around 6300m2 with a house as collective property in the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park.
Solijanka is part of the Mietshäuser Syndikat. The Mietshäuser Syndikat is a network of around 200 housing projects across Germany. The goal of the syndicate is the collective acquisition of houses that are transferred into collective ownership in order to create and maintain affordable housing in the long term. Private profits or ownership of the properties are excluded by statute. The houses are always managed jointly by the current residents. This prevents real estate speculation, gentrification and the shortage of living space. We share these goals and are therefore members of the Mietshäuser Syndikat and organized according to its model. You can find more information about the Mietshäuser Syndikat at www.syndikat.org .
Especially in rural areas, there is often a lack of alternative leisure activities other than sports clubs. We want to create open space in our numerous public spaces that can be used by individuals, organizations and clubs.
A free shop and several guest rooms already exist. There are also plans for a kitchen for everyone/café, several workshops and a library, a sports room, a seminar room and a concert hall with a bar.
We want to encourage exchange in our neighborhood. We also want to create subcultural offerings, especially for and with young people, and to promote and help shape political engagement in rural areas.
In the long term, this place is intended to serve as a basis for regular exchange and joint learning. It thrives on this and is intended to invite people to contribute their skills and experiences and to shape and support the project together.
We reject and fight against any inhumane way of thinking and acting. All who share this attitude are welcome.
